ZenCapture is a screen recording browser extension developed by isdev.pro. Your privacy is our priority.
Data Collection
ZenCapture does NOT collect, transmit, or store any personal data.
- No analytics or tracking
- No external servers or API calls
- No user accounts or registration
- No advertising or third-party services
Local Storage
The extension stores the following data LOCALLY on your device only:
- User preferences (video quality, audio settings, webcam position)
- Selected input devices (microphone, camera)
- Default recording options
This data is stored using the browser's built-in storage API (browser.storage.sync) and never leaves your device.
Recordings
All screen recordings are:
- Processed entirely on your device
- Temporarily stored in browser's IndexedDB during recording
- Downloaded directly to your computer
- Never uploaded to any external server
Permissions
The extension requires minimal permissions:
- storage: To save your preferences locally
- offscreen: To enable background recording (required for Manifest V3)
No host permissions or access to website content is requested.
Third-Party Services
ZenCapture does not use any third-party services, SDKs, or external code.
Children's Privacy
The extension does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.
